List of Recent Industrial Visits organized by the Department
Industrial Exposure: Emerson-Copeland Cold Chain Limited, Gurgaon
Department of MAE and ME in association with ASHRAE India Chapter organised an industrial visit to Emerson-Copeland Cold Chain Limited, Gurgaon on 24th November 2023. Emerson copeland is a leading compressor manufacturing HVAC&R company.
Industrial Exposure: Jindal SAW Limited, Kosi Kalan
An industrial visit to Jindal SAW Limited, Kosi Kalan was organized on 23 September, 2023 for students of Mechanical and Automation Engineering & Mechanical Engineering Departments. 50 students accompanied with 4 faculty members of MAE and ME Dept. attended the same. They showed the fabrication of pipes through GMAW and submerged arc welding processes and cold forming process. They explained in detail the various intermediate processes and the testing techniques used in checking of fabricated pipes. This industrial visit was an educational trip where students learned new techniques and had practical learning about the theoretical concepts.
Industrial Exposure: Shriram Pistons and Rings Pvt Ltd, Ghaziabad
Department of MAE and ME, MAIT organized an industrial visit at Shriram Pistons and Rings Pvt Ltd, Ghaziabad on 2 June 2023.
40 students of MAE and ME participated in the same. Shriram Pistons & Rings Limited is an India-based company, which is engaged in the manufacturing of various products, such as pistons and piston pins, piston rings, and engine valves. The company caters to both domestic and international markets. The principal business of the company is Automobile Piston Assemblies.
Industrial Exposure: Virtual Industrial visit of EDGETECH Air Systems
The Students of MAE and ME Deptts, Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology joined the *Virtual Industrial visit of EDGETECH Air Systems* (a leading manufacturer of Air Handling Units) organized by ASHRAE India Chapter at 11.00 a.m, 6 May 2023.
Industrial Exposure: Air Flow Pvt. Ltd., Greater Noida
An industrial visit to Air Flow Pvt. Ltd, Greater Noida was organized on 26th May, 2022 for students of ME and MAE Department. Students were briefed about the exhaust and ventilation fan manufacturing process by their technical staff. Mr. Abhishek and Mr. Arun (PO) gave presentation related to the history of AIR FLOW and its operations and production to the students. Students were taken around the plant and were explained about the production and operations process. Then students were taken around various divisions and explained about the operations in each division.
After the lab processing the students went for the balancing units and storage warehouse. The students were guided about the Research and Development department and were shown the Propulsion Jet and its uses. Overall it was highly interactive and learning visit for the students on the concepts related to production and operations in a large manufacturing plant.
Industrial Exposure: Rohini Heliport and Vertonics Pvt. Ltd.
On 24th January, 2019, Robotics Society of MAIT organized an industrial visit to Rohini Heliport, Rohini, New Delhi and Vertonics Pvt. Ltd.
A group of 32 Students, under the guidance of Mr. Ramakant Rana, Mr. Anupam Thakur and Mr. Naveen Solanki visited Rohini Heliport. Mr. A. K. Yadav (Head of Rohini Heliport) and Mr. Ramesh welcomed all and gave a brief introduction about the heliport. Mr. Prashant started the session for the students discussing about various helicopters, interior of India’s biggest helicopter, their maintenance (air craft maintenance department) and safety and precautionary measures taken at heliport during operational environment.
The visit was further headed to Vertonics Pvt. Ltd., Delhi where students were imparted with the knowledge of robotics, sensor technology, CAD modelling for 3D printing and the process of 3D printing. Both the visits made students acquainted to the newer technology used in modern era and sparked a new opportunity for exploration.
Pragati Combined Cycle Power Plant, Bawana
An industrial visit to Pragati Combined Cycle Power Plant, Bawana was organized on 16th Feb, 2019 for students of Mechanical and Automation Engineering Department. 40 students accompanied with 4 faculty members of MAE Dept. attended the same.
After the mandatory security check, students were taken to the conference hall where they were guided about the whole plant and cemented the structure of their theoretical knowledge with the practical experience. They explained the various details of power plant from the initial setup to the survival in the market incorporating the procedure of setting a power plant, design of power plant, working of power plant, surviving complications of the power plant in market. They showed the boiler, steam turbine, gas turbine, HRSG (heat recovery steam generator) and control section which followed with the doubt session. The industrial visit was an informative journey for students which will benefit them in their internships and in further career enhancement.
Maruti Suzuki India Ltd., Gurugram
Industrial visit is a part of the educational tour which provides students with an opportunity to learn practically through interaction, working methods and employment practices. An industrial visit to Maruti Suzuki India Ltd., Gurugram was organized on 01st March, 2019 for students of Mechanical and Automation Engineering Department. 35 students accompanied with 4 faculty members of MAE Dept. attended the same.
After the mandatory security check, students were taken to the conference hall where they were guided about the whole plant. At the company, the students were briefed about the car manufacturing process by their technical staff. Mr. Alok Kamal Srivastava (PO) gave presentation related to the history of Maruti and its operations and production to the students. Students were taken around the plant and were explained about the production and operations process. Then students were taken around various divisions and explained about the operations in each division. In all there are 5 divisions – press division, weld division, paint division, assembly division and quality check & inspection division. Students were shown videos of car manufacturing. The process of making of Maruti cars is totally automated and is internationally designed. Students cleared all their queries and received an interactive exposure. Overall it was highly interactive and learning visit for the students on the concepts related to production and operations in a large manufacturing plant.
Moon Beverages Pvt. Ltd., Sahibabad
An industrial visit to Moon Beverages Pvt. Ltd., Sahibabad was organized on 30th March, 2019 for students of Mechanical and Automation Engineering Department. 35 students accompanied with 3 faculty members of MAE Dept. attended the same. Moon Beverages started with manufacturing of soft drinks THUMS UP, LIMCA, MAAZA, RIMZHIM, BISLERI, SODA GOLD SPOT under arrangement with Parle. However, in 1994 the company became the authorized bottler of Coca Cola Atlanta, USA and started manufacturing and distribution of Coca Cola, Limca, Sprit, Maaza, Thumbs UP, Fanta, Minute Maid, Coke Zero & Kinley.
At the company, the students were briefed about the manufacturing process by their technical staff. Ms. Bhawna gave presentation related to the history of Moon Beverages Pvt. Ltd., Sahibabad and its operations and production to the students. Students were taken around the plant and were explained about the production and operations process. Then students were taken around various divisions and explained about the operations in each division. The process of making the soft drinks is totally automated and is internationally designed. Students cleared all their queries and received an interactive exposure
The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), Gurugram
An educational trip to The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), Gurugram was organized on 23rd August, 2019 for students and faculty members of Mechanical and Automation Engineering Department. 27 students accompanied with 9 faculty members of MAE Dept. attended the same. The genesis of TERI’s research activities in the fields of energy, environment, and sustainable development lies in its firm belief that efficient utilization of energy, sustainable use of natural resources, large-scale adoption of renewable energy technologies, and reduction of all forms of waste would move the process of development towards the goal of sustainability. TERI has been doing research in the areas of energy, environment and climate change issues. It has dedicated itself to the task of creating an informed group of students who will become the leaders of tomorrow and for whom environmental and sustainability issues will become a part of their daily lives.
The students got excited and curious after reaching at same. The students were first taken to the conference hall where they were guided about the different activities of TERI. Mr. Suresh Dev gave presentation related to the history of TERI and its operations and research projects to the students. Students were taken around the whole campus and were explained about the different projects. Then students were taken around various divisions and explained about the various activities in each division.
Hitachi Engineering Excellence Centre, Delhi
Industrial visit is a part of the educational tour which provides students with an opportunity to learn practically through interaction, working methods and employment practices. An industrial visit to Hitachi Engineering Excellence Centre, Delhi was organized by ASHRAE Student Chapter MAIT, Department of Mechanical and Automation Engineering on 4/Oct/2019. Total 39 students accompanied with 3 faculty members of MAE Deptt. attended the same.
Hitachi Engineering Excellence Centre, Delhi
The students got excited and curious after reaching at same. After the mandatory security check, students were taken to the conference hall where they were guided about the whole plant. This centre is furnished with exclusive hands-on training facilities through practical labs for room AC, variable refrigerant flow-based AC (VRF), packaged AC, control panels and brazing. The centre is also equipped with operational VRF systems having visible piping and electrical connections to further enrich the demonstration and training process. Overall, there were 7 product labs which will have capacity to train people at a time. This centre also has a Customer Experience Centre which provides visitors touch and feel factor through its remarkable exhaustive product range displays, which normally people don’t get to see at retail outlets.
Students cleared all their queries and received an interactive exposure. Overall it was highly interactive and learning visit for the students on the concepts related to production and operations in a large manufacturing plant.
Training at ‘Sanelac Consultant Pvt. Ltd., Delhi’
ASHRAE student chapter MAIT organized one full day Domestic air conditioning Training at ‘Sanelac Consultant Pvt. Ltd., Delhi’ to get more exposure in the field of HVAC on 17 Jan 2020. Following topics were covered in one day Domestic air conditioning Training:
1. Window Ac, 2. Split Ac, 3. Tools Introduction, 4. Vacuum process, 5. Refrigerant charging methods.

Virtual Industrial Visit to IotoMation, Noida on 10 October 2020
This visit was organized by AIC and various other industry professionals. With a participation of more than 100 students, it was a very invigorating experience. We got to learn firsthand about various new technologies in the field of IoT enabled BIM technology and embedded system concepts like , PLCs and SCADA etc. It was an amazing experience.

Virtual Industry Visit of 'Advance Valve Solutions'
ASHRAE MAIT Students got an opportunity to visit an industry 'Advance Valve Solutions' virtually on August 21, 2021. The visit was organized by ASHRAE India Chapter and was supported by various ASHRAE chapters all over the country. This virtual visit provided the students with knowledge about various types of valves used in industry. Besides this, different kinds of machining processes like milling, drilling, boring, etc. were also shown for better understanding of students.
