Congratulations to Ruchir and Tushar for securing 3rd Prize at IIT Delhi

Students Ruchir and Tushar from Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology (MAIT), Delhi, have brought laurels to the institute by securing 3rd Prize at Case Samadhan, a flagship case study competition आयोजित during Kaizen ’25 – The Annual Social Summit organized by NSS, IIT Delhi.

The competition witnessed 400+ registrations from across Delhi NCR, making this achievement highly commendable.

The event comprised two rigorous rounds:

  • Round 1: Problem analysis and structured case summarization
  • Round 2: Live presentation and solution pitching before an expert panel

Representing Team Nono | MAIT, the students demonstrated exceptional analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and presentation skills, despite having no prior experience in case study competitions. They successfully developed and presented a comprehensive solution within a limited timeframe of 24 hours.

Competing at the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, and securing a podium finish among some of the brightest student minds is a significant accomplishment.

Happy to share another proud moment for MAIT

Two students from the Mechanical Engineering Department, Sundaram and Akshat Bhatt, have been selected for the ASHRAE Scholarship 2026, which covers the total academic fee, Books and supplies for the upcoming session 2026-27.

This year, only three students from India have been selected for this prestigious scholarship by the ASHRAE -
2 from MAIT and 1 from DTU.

This recognition reflects the dedication of our students and the strong academic and professional culture we are building at MAIT.

Congratulations to Mr Samanvay Ahuja, member, team Aerostar, served as an Organising Core Team Member at NIDAR Feb 2026.

Samanvay Ahuja, member, team Aerostar, served as an Organising Core Team Member at NIDAR – National Innovation Challenge for Drone Application & Research, hosted by the Drone Federation of India (DFI), Feb 2026.
He supervised 100+ teams developing disaster management–focused UAV solutions, assisted in technical evaluations, and ensured adherence to safety standards. The experience provided strong exposure to real-world drone innovation and large-scale technical operations, further reinforcing his interest in aerospace and unmanned systems.

Pleased to inform that Team Jatayu has achieved a significant milestone by winning the Electric Powertrain Simulation event at the SAEINDIA BAJA ATV Challenge 2026, held in Indore, Madhya Pradesh.

The team won a cash prize of ₹15,000/-, demonstrating strong technical ability, analytical skills, and teamwork in electric vehicle system design and simulation.

Congratulations to Ms Anushka, Student, ME Department, MAIT for being selected to attend 2026 Women in ASHRAE Leadership Symposium, Los Angles, 13-14 April 2026.  She will get free registration and the travel support of $425 to attend the conference. This grant is exclusive for girl students.

Team AeroStars at Tech Innovation Fair

At the IIT Madras Tech and Innovation Fair held on January 4-5, Team AeroStars presented Project Eagle Eye X, a comprehensive UAV targeting and prioritizing subsystems. From an initial pool of over 300 competing teams, we were honored to be among the 15 finalists selected to showcase our work at this prestigious venue.

​Our presentation featured a full-stack suite comprising a precision targeting system, a custom-configured flight controller, and an integrated ground station, all designed to identify and prioritize targets in real-time. Although we did not secure a prize at the event, the opportunity to present our innovation before industry experts and fellow researchers was invaluable. The feedback we received regarding our computer vision integration and system architecture has provided us with a clear roadmap for further development, making the fair a significant milestone in our journey toward perfecting autonomous aerial reconnaissance.

Congratulations to Team AeroStars for taking part in the Mach 1.0 UAV competition, at the Thapar Institute on 15th Nov 25.

Team AeroStars took part in the Mach 1.0 UAV competition, at the Thapar Institute on 15th Nov 25. Team AeroStars displayed a custom built fixed wing aircraft made for racing. The main technical work for Team AeroStars at the event was to install a Fly-by-Wire system. The Fly-by-Wire system gave Team AeroStars stability and control as Team AeroStars flew the three required laps. Out of fifteen finalist teams the team earned a good score for the report. The technical report showed research and clear engineering notes. The UAV passed the inspection with no problems. The UAV proved to focus on build quality and safety.The competition gave a test for the flight control systems. We leave the event with valuable flight data and a successful real-world validation of our Fly-by-Wire technology, which will significantly inform our future projects and aerial developments.

Congratulations to Mr. Naman Singh, B.Tech (M.E.) 2nd Year

Naman Singh (E No 00414811124) along with other students of “Team Impluse” from Mechanical MAIT participated in the Product-a-thon on 16th November 2025 organized by "IIIT Delhi" and secured the 3rd Position with cash prize of Rs 15000. The students developed an IoT-based Smart Water Management System capable of monitoring TDS, turbidity, temperature, and flow rate in real time. The system sends all data to a cloud dashboard, enabling quick detection of water quality issues, leakage identification, and reduction of wastage. The project was appreciated for its practicality, real-world impact, and clean implementation.

Chapters Regional Conference (CRC) of ASHRAE Region XV was held with the theme of ‘Blue is the New Green’ on 20-22 September 2024 at Fateh Vilas by Fateh Collection, Udaipur, Rajasthan, India. The event was organized by ASHRAE India Chapter and attended by more than 200 International and National Delegates including ASHRAE President, Mr Dennis Knight, USA. Three students of MAIT Mr Aman Kr, Mr Aman Vats and Mr Keshav Vats attended and volunteered the same. Dr Vaibhav Jain, Associate Prof and Head, ME Deptt also received huge appreciation and recognition for his work and support to ASHRAE.

ASHRAE India chapter organised an International Symposium on 'Clean Energy, Air and Water: Circular Economy' on 16th September 2024 at Development Alternatives, Qutub Institutional Area, Delhi. ASHRAE President, Mr Dennis Knight, USA graced the occasion with many HVAC industry experts. Students depicted their idea through posters and oral presentation, followed by Engineer's day celebration with a video prepared by Ms Anushka, Student MAIT and DL presentation by Mr Dennis Knight.

SAE India Southern Section Autonomous Drone Development Challenge 2024 

Team Aerostars under the ME Department from Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology left a lasting impression with their unique pusher-configured drone at the SAE India Southern Section Autonomous Drone Development Challenge held in KCG College of Technology, Chennai on the dates 18-20 July 2024. The team's innovative and unique design left a lasting impression on the other participants as well as the judges. Some teams went so far that they specially approached our team and enquired about our design strategies and methods., February 2025.

Forum on Energy Efficiency and Decarbonisation 2024 (FEED 2024)

Students of ME deptt, MAIT participated in the fourth edition of ‘Forum on Energy Efficiency and Decarbonisation 2024 (FEED 2024) presented by Alliance for an Energy Efficient Economy (AEEE), 28- 29 Feb 2024, Hotel Eros, Delhi under the guidance of Dr Vaibhav Jain.

FEED placed a robust emphasis on decarbonisation and smart energy management, which is crucial for achieving a net-zero economy and encourages vital knowledge transfer in technology adoption across the value chain. As a convergence point for stakeholders within India’s energy ecosystem, FEED facilitated interactions and opportunities for enhanced business competitiveness through energy efficiency and decarbonisation. Aligned with the G20 New Delhi Leaders’ Declaration and COP28’s agenda, FEED 2024 focused on ‘Achieving India’s energy efficiency commitment by 2030: Fuelling investments, creating green jobs, and forging key alliances.’ This edition aimed to foster meaningful dialogue, issuing a call to action to accelerate energy efficiency across sectors through collective efforts, cooperation, knowledge sharing and creating opportunities across industries, governments, and communities.

It was a proud moment for ASHRAE Student branch MAIT being part of 2024 ASHRAE Winter Conference at Chicago, 20-24 Jan 2024. During the conference, Dr Vaibhav Jain has been given SBA award and recognized for the Project along with Mr Prakhar Jain, which is selected among top two grants for presentation in the conference. The scholarship recipients of 2023-24, Mr Saquib and Mr Kamran were recognized during student activity event. Mr Saquib received travel grant to attend the conference.

India Decarbonization Conference: Shaping a Sustainable Future for the Built-Environment

ASHRAE Student Branch Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology attended the 'India Decarbonization Conference : Shaping a Sustainable Future for the Built-Environment' Organized by ASHRAE RAL, hosted by ASHRAE India Chapter (15th -16th December 2023 at Pride Plaza Hotel, Aerocity, New Delhi). The event was witnessed with many eminent personalities from Industry as well as Academia around the globe including ASHRAE President Ms Ginger Scoggings and other officials of ASHRAE, USA.

The students of MAIT participated in Student Poster Making Competition under the guidance of Dr. Vaibhav Jain during “India Decarbonization Conference" which aimed to foster creativity, awareness, and innovative thinking among students on the critical issue of decarbonization.

Mr. Mayank Jaitely, 3rd Year, ME won Rising Star Position in same. The students of MAIT also assisted as volunteer of the event.

Bharat Drone Shakti 2023

Bharat Drone Shakti 2023 organized by Drone Federation of India hosted at Hindan airforce station on 25th and 26th September 2023, where the defence minister inaugurated C-295. Ambassadors and delegates of different countries were present, who witnessed the made in India drones and their application in different fields.

The students of Team Aerostars under ME Deptt, MAIT assisted the Drone Federation of India in managing the event and made it successful. MAIT students, Mr Deepanshu and Mr Sanyam also managed the Air traffic control at Hindan Airforce station. The team also flew the drones with the company Flycamp. The event was a great succes.

Team Aerostar of ME Deptt, MAIT received 2nd place in Technical Presentation and Best in Innovation Category in Autonomous Drone Development Competition organized at KCG College of Technology, 25-26 August 2023, Chennai.

Technoxian World Robotics Championship

Team Aerostars under ME Deptt, MAIT participated in Technoxian World Robotics Championship that was held in Noida Indoor Stadium from July 25th to July 27th,2023. The Robotics Championship attracted a crowd from all around the world and got more than 32 countries visited this prestigious competition. Team Aerostars took part in the Drone championship with 172 other teams including teams from Iran, Bangladesh, Israel, Sri Lanka, Russia, Brazil etc. Team Aerostar, MAIT managed to secure a position in the top 5 by the piloting skills shown by team Aerostar and came out in 5th position.

Annual conference AIC Tech 2023

The students of ASHRAE Student Branch MAIT along with their mentor Dr Vaibhav Jain were felicitated for their active participation and work in the field of HVAC&R by ASHRAE India Chapter during their Annual conference AIC Tech 2023 organized at Hotel Pride Plaza, Aerocity, Delhi on 28 April 2023.
The conference was highly informative and focused on net zero educational campuses, and the discussions were centered around how we can reduce the carbon footprint of educational institutions while maintaining a comfortable learning environment.
Apart from net zero educational campuses, the conference also focused on topics such as thermal comfort, energy efficiency, and building automation systems. The speakers at the conference were highly experienced and provided valuable insights into the latest technologies and best practices for achieving sustainability in the built environment.
