Honeywell, Gurgaon organized by ASHRAE India Chapter
Seven students of ASHRAE MAIT attended one day industrial programme at Honeywell, Gurgaon organized by ASHRAE India Chapter on 24 May 2026.
During industrial training at Honeywell International, Gurgaon students gained practical exposure to industrial automation, process control systems, building management systems (BMS), and advanced HVAC technologies, along with an understanding of real-time monitoring and data-driven optimization used in oil & gas, energy, and manufacturing sectors. The training provided hands-on experience with PLC/SCADA systems, sensors and instrumentation, safety standards, energy efficiency practices, and predictive maintenance concepts supported by digital tools and analytics.
Trainees also developed professional skills such as teamwork in multidisciplinary engineering environments, problem-solving using industry standards, and exposure to global engineering practices followed in large-scale

Hands-on Training on Advanced Metrology Equipment
The Department of Mechanical Engineering successfully organized a five-day Industrial Training Program for faculty and staff on Hands-on Training on Advanced Metrology Equipment. The program emphasized practical exposure to industry-grade instruments, including the Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), 2D Height Gauge, and Roughness Testing Machine, conducted in collaboration with MITUTOYO South India Asia Pvt. Ltd. The initiative was designed to enhance hands-on competence in precision measurement techniques and to align academic practices with contemporary industrial standards, thereby strengthening the integration of industry-relevant skills into teaching and laboratory activities.

Students Faculty members of Mechanical Engineering Department, MAIT attended three days industrial training program at Honeywell, Gurgaon during 4-6, Sept 2025.
Theme: Empowering Educators, Inspiring Students ✨? Objective: Capacity building in HVAC&R technologies, industry-relevant skills, and professional readiness.

Two weeks residential training at the Daikin R&D Plant in Neemrana, Rajasthan
Students of Mechanical Engineering Department from Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology (MAIT) recently completed a two-week industrial training program from 23 June to 4 July at the Air Conditioning Technology Development Centre (ACDC), Daikin India, located in Neemrana. This immersive training experience was designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry practices, offering students a rare opportunity to work closely with one of the global leaders in HVAC technology. Key Learnings from the Training were:
- Detailed understanding of Refrigeration Cycles and system operation
- Explanation and demonstration of the Diesel Explosion Phenomena
- Comparison between Inverter and Non-Inverter AC systems
- Hands-on Installation of Room Air-conditioners (RA units)
- Practical usage of Megger, Multimeter, and Clamp Meter for diagnostics
- Skill development in Brazing of Hard Copper Pipes
- Comprehensive training on VRV (Variable Refrigerant Volume) Systems
- Introduction to the working and components of Chiller Systems
- Testing of key parameters like:
- Degree of Superheat (Discharge & Suction)
- Degree of Subcooling
- Understanding and maintaining Standard Operating Conditions in HVAC systems
- Applied knowledge of Psychrometry and its impact on air quality and comfort
- Strict training on Factory Safety Procedures and Protocols
- Development of Personal Behavioral Skills for industrial work culture
Beyond technical training, students were encouraged to develop their soft skills, including teamwork, communication, and workplace discipline.
By the end of the program, students walked away with not only enhanced technical capabilities but also a professional mindset aligned with industry expectations. This training was a significant milestone in their academic journey, providing real-world insights and preparing them to take on challenges in the field of HVAC . It was a truly transformative experience, made possible by the expertise and mentorship provided by Daikin India’s technical team at ACDC Neemrana.

Two Days Industrial Training Program on “Pipe Manufacturing” in association with Jindal Saw Ltd at Pipe Manufacturing Facility Located at Kosi Kalan, U.P.
The Department of Mechanical Engineering, MAIT, successfully conducted a Two-Day Industrial Training Program on “Pipe Manufacturing” in collaboration with Jindal SAW Ltd. at their state-of-the-art pipe manufacturing facility in Kosi Kalan, U.P. This program offered a comprehensive blend of on-site industrial exposure and online expert interaction, enriching the professional development of our faculty members and aligning academic practices with current industry standards.
Day 1: Industrial Visit – Practical Insights into Pipe Manufacturing
On 8th March 2025, faculty members visited the Jindal SAW Ltd. facility and gained hands-on exposure to several critical manufacturing processes, including:
- Forming
- Submerged Arc Welding
- Annealing & Quenching
- Hydro Testing
These processes are fundamental to the production of high-quality steel pipes used in oil, gas, and water transportation. The visit provided a unique opportunity to observe cutting-edge technologies and understand the intricacies involved in producing pipes of various diameters and specifications.
Such real-world exposure plays a crucial role in enhancing teaching methodologies and ensuring that our students are equipped with industry-relevant knowledge and skills.

Day 2: Online Industry Interaction – Advancing Towards Net-Zero
On 11th March 2025, an Online Industrial Interaction was held with Mr. Ankur Agnihotri, Deputy General Manager – Marketing & Contracts at Jindal SAW Ltd. The session focused on the company’s initiatives and roadmap towards achieving net-zero carbon emissions, highlighting the industry's growing emphasis on sustainability.
During the online interaction, Mr. Ankur Agnihotri highlighted several impactful initiatives being undertaken by Jindal SAW Ltd. to advance toward their net-zero targets. He discussed the implementation of circular practices aimed at boosting sustainability across operations, and the adoption of innovative techniques to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The session also emphasized the importance of selecting suppliers based on stringent environmental certifications, ensuring that sustainability is maintained throughout the supply chain. Additionally, Mr. Agnihotri outlined how cutting-edge technologies are being leveraged to effectively monitor and manage the company's carbon footprint, reinforcing Jindal SAW Ltd.’s commitment to environmental responsibility.
This session offered valuable insights into the intersection of engineering, sustainability, and innovation, empowering faculty members to integrate these themes into the curriculum and inspire the next generation of engineers.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering, MAIT attended a 5-day industrial training program for its esteemed faculties, enthusiastic students, and dedicated staff members at the Daikin Airconditioning India Pvt. Ltd., Neemrana from 6th to 10th January 2025. This hands-on experience provided valuable insights into state-of-the-art manufacturing processes, advanced HVAC technologies, and sustainable engineering practices. The training fostered skill development, industry-academia collaboration, and exposure to real-world applications.

Industrial training workshop Robotics and Automation at Nextup Robotics, Ghaziabad
The Robotics Society of Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology (MAIT), in collaboration with the Department of Mechanical Engineering (ME), successfully organized an Industrial Training Workshop on Robotics and Automation on 7th September 2024. The event was held at Nextup Robotics, Shastri Nagar, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, and provided students with an opportunity to gain practical exposure to advanced robotics technologies.
