COMPUTATIONAL METHODS LAB

Lab Incharge : Ms Surabhi Lata

Lab Technician : Mr. Budh Ram Saini

Lab Overview:

The Computational Methods Lab is designed to equip the students with hands-on experience of theoretical concepts in numerical techniques, and algorithm implementation using the computational software. The practical acquaintance helps students to make use of theoretical knowledge and incorporate them in real-world problems across different fields.

Key soft tools and Equipment in the Lab:

The lab is equipped with modern computing facilities and software tools which include:

  1. Computers – More than 25 High-performance Computer systems equipped with various software for Programming.
  2. Printer – Enables students to print technical drawings for evaluation and documentation.
  3. Projector – Facilitates instructional demonstrations and collaborative learning.
  4. Software: SciLab for numerical computing, Turbo C++ for high performance computing, Computational libraries and frameworks as needed

Learning Objectives:

By the end of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Apply basic Turbo C++ commands to develop numerical computation programs.

  2. Develop Turbo C++ programs to find roots of algebraic and transcendental equations.

  3. Construct Turbo C++ code to implement various interpolation formulae.

  4. Design and implement Turbo C++ programs for solving problems in numerical integration and differential equations.

This lab plays a significant role in bridging the gap between theory and practical applications, equipping students with skills necessary for the research and industrial environments.
