The Thermal Engineering-1 Lab is designed to provide students with hands-on experience to perform Exergy destruction of a given Internal Combustion Engine. This lab is an essential part of engineering education, ensuring students develop the skills needed to Perform Exergy analysis and to draw valve timing diagrams of a given Internal Combustion Engine.
The Thermal Engineering-2 Lab is designed to provide students with hands-on experience to conduct performance tests on Internal Combustion Engine. This lab is an essential part of engineering education, ensuring students develop the skills needed to Perform load tests and to determine components of heat balance of a given internal combustion engine.
Lab Overview:
The lab is equipped with the Cut section of the Petrol engine and Diesel engine to draw valve timing diagrams. The lab is also equipped with Separating-throttling calorimeter to measure dryness fraction of given steam sample.
The lab is equipped with an Experimental test rig of Petrol engine and Diesel engine to perform thermodynamic analysis of a given internal combustion engine. The lab is also equipped with an Ice-candy test rig and refrigeration test rig to perform thermodynamic analysis of the Vapor compression refrigeration system.
Key Equipment in the Lab:
- Cut section of Petrol Engine and Diesel Engine – To draw Valve timing diagram of Internal combustion Engine.
- Separating-throttling Calorimeter – to measure dryness fraction of given steam sample.
- Diesel Engine Test Rig – To perform exergy analysis of Exhaust Gas Calorimeter of Given Engine.
- Petrol Engine Test Rig- To perform exergy analysis of Exhaust Gas Calorimeter of Given Engine.
- Model of Babcock-wilcox Boiler – Used for understanding the working of Water Tube Boiler.
- Diesel Engine Test Rig – To conduct load test and to determine components of heat balance.
- Petrol Engine Test Rig – To conduct load test and to determine components of heat balance
- Ice Candy Test Rig and Refrigeration test rig – To determine COP of given refrigeration system based on VCR system.
- Cut section of Reciprocating and Rotary Compressors – Used for understanding the working of Different types of compressors.
- Trainer model for Boiler accessories with working system of steam engine and separating cum throttling calorimeter
